TRACK OF THE DAY
MIIKE SNOW - ‘PADDLING OUT’
Via Consequence of Sound:
Swedish pop outfit Miike Snow returns with their sophomore LP, Happy To You, on March 27th via Downtown Records/Universal Republic. Although we’ve already heard a preview of the album with“Devil’s Work”, the trio has now released the LP’s proper first single, “Paddling Out”. The house-style production value features chopped up bits of acid jazz, with vocalist Andrew Wyatt’s clearly sex-less vocals, and other, more bubbly backing vocals, gingerly thrown on top. The end result keeps in line with their back catalog and simultaneously stands as some of their more joyous work to date.

10.54. If everything in your day has gone wrong so far, then this is almost certainly due to you not having Coco Pops for breakfast.
Jesus turned water into wine? So what. I turned my whole paypacket into beer. Your move Jesus.

STUCK ON REPEAT
You may have heard this from the best movie of 2011 ‘Drive’.

REMIX I FORGOT ABOUT OF THE DAY
Lil Wayne ft. Imogen Heap - Fly by Night (R3K Remix)
R3K seems to have a serious knack for remixing strong female vocalitst with male rappers. First was the Florence/Kid Cudi marriage, and I just stumbled upon this other track featuring Lil’ Wayne and Imogen Heap.
Sampling vocals from Lil’ Wayne’s “Swag Surfin” and transferring them on top of Heap’s “Just For Now,” the output is brimming with synthesized perfection. Lil’ Wayne’s gravelly rapping almost becomes white noise, leaving the focus on Imogen’s lusciously symphonic floating vocals.
